Alice in Wonderland Inspired Layout

Alice in Wonderland has been huge this year and it almost feels over-done because I saw the new movie and it was...mehhh...to say the least. AnyWHOoo...I'm still an AW fan from wayyyy back when, so I hope you enjoy my new layout.

Here's a few quick graphic how-to's I made...
Diamond Tile Background

I created the background entirely in MS_Paint (as usual with most of my graphics), I first created the basic black and white diamond tiles but they looked too plain and boring sooo...I designed a circular pattern in black and dark gray for the background instead. Then I duplicated the pattern doing an invert of the colors. Then I overlapped my basic diamond pattern over both shades and combined them together. I then added 2 different sizes of white dots to the darker colored diamonds and voila...I now have my unique tile style background you see here.

Blue Striped Background

To get this background I used MS_Paint spray-can in a light blue shade(3 different shades of light blue were used and white to complete this image), I then cut it into a long rectangle shape and made an almost white shape the same size underneath it. This was a quick way for me to create a stripe pattern that was something other than a solid blue block of nothing-ness, it gives a slight worn-affect.

Absolutely Alice

This past weekend was spent with none other than...Mr. Sweety! We made a few videos on BlogTV...we were going to make more the next day but we konked out after he brought me to a really different type of latin dance spot. To further elaborate this small dance club was like...Hooters but the women try to get you to salsa dance with them and drink. I felt outta place I'll be honest...perhaps it was my lack of white booty shorts and go-go boots, lol. Or maybe the fact I was kinda the only chick their aside from the servers!

I decided to surpass my boredom at work today by painting my nails using OPI in Absolutely Alice. This color is pretty frickin' awesome, the pic from my phone hardly does it justice but I'd def recommend a nice clear topcoat to boost the glittery shine and keep the glitter from wearing off. I haven't seen too many glitter polishes with like 3 different colors of glitter in it...this one is mostly blue, some silver and a little black and 4 coats seems more then sufficent to achieve this look as 2-3 coats is probably enough.

I purchased a Konad recently and began experimenting with it this week. I'm not sure I'm totally in love with it at this point but I may give a reveiw on it at a later time. So far I find it a bit messy, inconsistent, not all the patterns seem to work seemlessly. If the stamper design was changed to a rectangle shape rather then round it would maybe be a bit more ideal for some of the patterns (which also seem too small for thumb nails)...but like I said I'll keep playing with it, I think it takes a little patience and practice perhaps.

On a personal note I'm really starting to take this whole "getting old" ordeal to heart. I've recently been told I'm one of the oldest peeps on B-TV (which is totally NOT true!). Someone I know also said that in 4yrs I should start planning to have kids because apparently I'm "NOT getting any younger"...which I found very offensive, rude and narrow minded. Funny thing is...one day all these peeps calling me "old" (at age 26!) will more then likely go through the SAME ordeal as me, so yea...karma's a b*tch ;P Thanks to those of you thinking I look 17, ahaha.

Minus Green Plus Purple

Today I decided to remove the green color from my St.Patricks Day nails leaving my leopard print nail as-is but adding a stick-on diamond decal (not sure you can see it well in this photo) to the center of the nail and fnished with a clear topcoat of Seche Vite to keep it in place. The light lilac colored polish (which may look gray from my B-Berry photo) is Essie in "Looking for Love" which took several coats of paint (I lost count of how many coats I did but it took A LOT). BTW my ring is from Etsy in case you were wondering ;D

I also got to try out Onyx Professionals (the purple colored formula) nail polish remover today which I purchased recently at Wal-Mart, it seems to work better then the Equate brand (which would take me forever to get all my polish off).

Happy St. Patricks Day

I know some of ya'll are still waiting for my Hawaii photos and such, but yea...I've totally been procrastinating and EVENTUALLY I'll get around to adding it, just...I really want to do some other posts ;P

My St. Patricks Day nails today! The green color is China Glaze in "Paper Chasing" (I think I've already done a past post on my leopard prints nails...correct me if I'm wrong!). Isn't this the perfect green for St. Pat's? Prolly good for X-Mas too. I heard green nails are suppose to be really popular this year, like its practically the new black, lolz.

Those of you following my tweets may have heard the latest news about me going live on BlogTV cam with Mr.Sweety this weekend! Its true and he said he's going to have to get a hair cut for the occasion, ahaha. Here's the room where we'll be cam'n it up at. Don't dispair if you miss the show, I'll hopefully record some of it ;D
