Star Struck on MySpace

OMG, I was totally about to blog about some negativity that had been going on in my life recently but when I saw I had a comment from none other than the famous Valeria on my MySpace page I was just soooooo stoked!! Its a pretty rare thing on MySpace for famous people to actually take time to write people.Originally I had left her a MySpace comment on her page after Valeria stated that her new song "Rich and Famous" was suppose to be airing on "The Hills" TV show this past Monday. When I watched the recent episode on YouTube and didn't hear her song, I wrote her...and before ya know it she wrote a little something back... (BTW "SP" is a shortened version of my MySpace nickname, which has been edited out here)

For those of you that don't know her or maybe aren't sure exactly who this chick is, well check-out the video below!

Well of course she didn't really give me an answer as to why her song wasn't aired but...maybe it'll show up on the next episode of "The Hills".

My Bedroom Idea

So I've been thinking of many different bedroom ideas for my room and sometimes it gets a bit too hectic in my head so here I've done a quick MS-Paint doodle. This is my vintage modern take consisting of mostly birds...majority of items can be found at Target(black shag rug, white side table, curtain rod, poster image also found on EBay but my square frame is from Ikea) and Urban Outfitters(bird wall decals, bird & snake sheets used as clip up curtains, bird pillow from UO but seen on EBay, deer lamp although this one I have is from EBay so it's bigger and black in color) and the futon I made up which you could probably find one about anywhere(Ikea, Target, etc) or could use a real bed instead of a futon.

YOUR CUP OF TEA

EGCG AKA epigallocatechin gallate, is a catechin found in the highest concentration in green tea. Research is underway to determine the effect of purified EGCG extract on metabolism.I saw a magazine article today in Mens Magazine based on Green Tea's with the highest EGCG levels. Based on what I read you might want to ditch your "syrupy-soda" like Arizona Green Tea and use one a bit more gratifying. Check out the results(in no random order) I found below from the article and feel empowered (^.^)

Furoshiki

A year ago I received some free items from an EBay seller in Japan and what I thought to be some type of scarves or handkerchiefs they actually really weren't at all. They're better known as "Furoshiki" which are used to wrap around any number of items that needed to carried(gifts, clothes, food, etc). You would place your items in the center of the furoshiki then pull in all four corners accordingly and tie the ends together. These are most often used to place your bento box in and then you could use your furoshiki as a table mat. There are many different ways to fold a furoshiki and they also come in different sizes.
I thought my furoshiki were so interesting and pretty that when I had first received them I placed them into picture frames to hang up on my wall(as I photographed to the above right). Now with the ones I didn't frame I used to wrap up some unused candle jars I had and two small sake bottles(as I photographed to the above left), makes for a nice new display.
Today I also came across this interesting new take on Furoshiki style!

Let the Rumors Begin

Now that my crush and I have been gaining more and more interest in each other and starting to establish more of a relationship status, it has become obvious to those random people around us. None-the-less rumors are starting to surface. I was in major disbelief about all these rumors about my crush so I of course turned to my crush. Besides...if my crush is perhaps being untruthful about busting these rumors to me, it'll only come back to bite him in the bum later down the road if I see the truth for myself. Anyway, I'm putting my trust in him, which...is typically a rare thing on my part for someone I have just begun to know.
Even my own Mother that has never met the guy before and knows little about him of course wants to start her own rumors. Which until recently I've become aware that my own Mother has become a "Et tu, Brute?" in my life. So I no longer want my Mother involved in my relations with anyone I know personally as she has posed a problem with not only my dates but my friends.

Most people may think my Mom is just being a protective Mother but that is not her human nature at all("I wouldn't take a bullet for my daughter", her words to my Uncle). Plus when I look back at my past relations and how they started, my Mother had an impact on how my feelings changed rapidly for a person. So this is now a battle she will not win regardless if I do end up hurt in the end or not.

Naughty Monkey

I know I've been trying to find my perfect pair of sneakers but I couldn't help but indulge in the pump sections of Nordstroms. I'd love to purchase a new pair of heels before Friday...since my new crush loves staring at them, hehe. So I'm posting my new fav sexy/cute/unique/etc pump picks today in this post. Also although these heels may be a bit on the cheaper side I'm kinda diggin' the brand "Naughty Monkey" and how they have that unique-ness to them.

$89.95 Jessica Simpson 'Daila' Pump: Cute in the cameo color but luvin the chocolate colored ones as well. Although I hate that Jessica Simpson shoes all relatively have the same basic shape to them(boringgg) and how these aren't the easiest to keep on while dancing(no straps on them to ensure they stay put).

$89.95 DV by Dolce Vita 'Reggie' Mary Jane: An interesting retro take, wouldn't be sure if I liked them enough to buy them so I'd have to see how they fit and look on in order to come to a true conclusion.

$99.95 Steve Madden 'Lockd' Peep Toe Pump: For a more nautical take while staying cute, classy and sassy! Although these stripey ones may not be club ready and should probably stay on the cruise ship.

$109.95 BCBGirls 'Saraff' Slingback Sandal: Lovin' the Asian feel to these but also like the cute retro feel of the yellow ones. Nice for a beach date or that sushi place in town.

$280 L.A.M.B. 'Shauna' Sandal: A bit risky lookin' to dance in, unsure if I love 'em enough to pay that price for them. L.A.M.B. does have some decent looking all around pumps to pick from aside from these.

Its so much easier to pick shoes in person than through the net...just my personal opinion. I like to see all my options and sometimes I just see that pair I can't take my eyes off of and I just HAVE to HAVE them (^.^) Plus you get to try them on at the store and that can sometimes be a deal breaker.

Good Impressions

Today has been an exhausting one...not just for me but I can see all my co-workers blood, sweat and them going the extra mile to make a good impression today with the big boss being in town. I met my manager for the first time in the 2 years I've been working for this company today(kinda pathetic really). I moved all our aircraft tires to their proper locations. I received in 5 gallon canisters of liquid and made the extra effort to put them away nice and neat. Doesn't help that most of us were cooking inside the hangar with this hot humid weather and no working AC (u.u6)The best part about today is...its my Fridayyyyy with a lovely 3 days off as usual after working 4 10 hour days (^.^) Misoooo Happy!!

P.S. I still say IAD has the best sunsets(photo taken on cell cam today).

Reflecting

As I was looking at myself in the mirror today at work I noticed that at only a mere 5'4 I'm perhaps lacking in the height department. Of course I look to my shoes of all things because I know that's the only way I get taller anymore. So I thought to myself..."why the h*ll am I wearing the flattest of shoes (Vans) when I am so short?"! I honestly feel these aren't the most feminine or flattering shoes to my figure(although I thought these flat $75 adidas below by Missy Elliot were kinda cute). Also the Nike store had lots of China apparel with the olympics going on and everything (^.^)
So now I'm wondering as to what kicks to wear on my feet that are feminine; can give a 5'4 cutie a boost; cute; comfortable and be good for running around work all day?. I really haven't been shopping for real sneakers in a long time! What do all you other sneaker savvy ladies pick for your latest kicks? Let the hunt for the perfect kicks commence...to be continued...

P.S. I also love the tokidoki web layout for the Onitsuka site!

Tila Nguyen

If their is one Asian woman I'm crazy about its mah girl Tilaaaa Tequilaaaa ( The MySpace Queen!! ). Dang Bobby and Kristy for bein fake a** idiots and breakin her heart too. I love this new pic of hers and those boots are tah die for (^.^) I want themmm...Eeeee! I believe that could be the same top I saw on the Nike site.

She'll also be starting a new show that's all about her and her personal life(can't wait to see it). Sounds better than her trying to find love shows because it just didn't seem real in my opinion. Oh and she has a new single that popped out on her MySpace for just a day last month called "Hideaway" which you can find on YouTube and the song is suppose to be featured on her album(although I don't care much for the song).
